The Social Security Organisation of Malaysia (SOCSO) through the last decade has changed the life of more than 13,000 workers with injuries or illnesses through its Return to Work Program. Launched in 2007, the program has gone through a major evolution including the framework used to facilitate workers with injuries or illnesses back to work. Having gone through many challenges, celebrating success and many other encounters, the only thing that remains constant is that Return to Work Matters! This paper showcases the journey encountered through the decade, its challenges and successful factors in giving workers with injuries or illnesses the social protection required through having decent work.
